This is my breakfast today.
watch your gag reflex, thanks to the lies that you've been told for decades this might make you gag and think i have a death wish.
that right there is 1000 calories and the coffee is only 2 of them thanks to naughty bad for you artificial sweetener.
8 yes EIGHT eggs, massive avocado and little hot sauce on the eggs, and that white stuff? sour cream? that would be nice but far better is mayo, yeap thats 2 giant glops of pure mayonnaise.
yes yes by all means check with your doctor first, get some intel, they are good at finding stuff and giving you data, however, how to alter your data via what you do and eat? well they only have more of the bad info we all do, you'll find that the more seasoned ones take less and less stock in the party line and the insane food pyramid.
Eating like this, my results have been nearly 60lbs of weight loss, way lower blood pressure, even more athletic heart rate and i haven't even started with any exercise at all.
what would make this breakfast bad for me would be a simple piece of toast adding that, not the mayo, would be foolish
check this article out about the calorie bs.

Work lunch mid-week, hard core
This is how it should look, so much mayo that its almost like cold cereal (i could so kill a box of captain crunch right now, dammit) in this case because i was extra hungry i added 2 hard boiled eggs to tuna and mayo, tossed on some pepper for color and flava (dont forget that water!)
creepy though this kind of mayo i just got says no need to refrigerate, should i worry about glowing in the dark?
anyway this has like really damn near no carbs, this is your day in day out just do it don't think about it toss it in your bag way to get there that pays for those weekly nudges toward enjoyment, lifestyle.
think about it though, every single day some taco bell blech or can of salty soup or.... its not like you are giving up something amazing on your day to day, you are giving up yetch anyway so why not just fuel up with this so that eventually you get your body back, your energy, your living.
get back down to where you do take that hike on the weekend on the coast and turn in for a really nice dinner and a glass of brilliantly crafted Pinot Noir, mmmm. even at that once you are well on your way you can do that from time to time, but think like that, steak, veggies and your cheat is that its red instead of white wine and the veggies aren't 100% on plan when you eat like this all week they don't have to be.
this was tasty, i'm very full and honestly after 7.5 months of this, that apple fritter the other day was just gross, it was like a greasy glob of sugar and crisco. so those really bad binges are getting easier and easier to not miss, sure i'll have the stray thought like the captain crunch above but now that i'm full that totally passed.
when i do get to my goal I will know that i've really done it if there is little to no change to what I eat, it should be a gradual process of guiding my body's fuel to match where i'm at, when i can go mountain biking every weekend or skiing i will need to feed my body healthy carbs for fuel if there's not much fat left to feast on but I should get gradually closer and closer to that as i go.
in theory there is no 'off' the 'diet' I think that is right at the very center of what we've all been doing wrong, we do this in everything we do, vacation, school relationships all 'on' or 'off' when the world we live in is grey, right now i'm no longer a 344lb dude so how i manage my wellness has changed and will keep changing, even at my goal level there will be times where i've strained my knee and wont be going for that ride for a few weeks and i'll need to recognise that and adjust.
what i'm doing right now is practice for that future behavior that habit, the losing of weight is almost ancillary when you realize that that has never been the hardest part.

Carb night / nite thinger
Really wish I had a pic for this, maybe i will score one later. So i saw this video with whats his face Keifer about all his metabolic wisdom and carb nite. i've heard of this before on atkins, break a plateau by goosing the engine, figured it was psychological but he says its got to be weekly so in the interest of science, ok, i'll bite, no pun intended.
so instead of my somewhat usual nacho splurge where i dont eat all the chips and the bigger sin is the beans but mostly meat, sour cream, jalipenos, olives, hot sauce, all pretty good... i went for it and had a full on slice of pizza and a apple fritter, later choking back a mocha frap and a brownie. all this should happen in 6 hours, i managed that but honestly hated it, all that wheat and processed sugar felt awful.
so i will weigh in tomorrow and see if it worked, last week i was back up a few pounds so i figured i'd give it a shot, if it did work i just cant take his advice and eat total gut acheing crap, maybe some icecream but more like unproccessed honey or sugar on sweet potato, the wheat had me having acid refulx for days, managed to still not take anything for that but after 7.5 months of nothing like that crap at all even on a 'cheaty' day i can tell, that shit is just not for me.
listen to your body, it does a great job of giving some not so subtle hints what to do. i'll try to post the weigh in info tomorrow and how i tackle the weekend based on what i find.

Brats Cauliflower creamy curry, oh my
Just a shot of some of my regular noms, this is probably some of that milk/mayo based curry stuff i've mentioned before, soy sauce drizzled on the bits before the cream goes in. this is probably shy of $8 and makes eh, like 4 meals? so its not top ramen cheap but massively cheaper than any fast food and tastier than almost anything shy of $100 at any restaurant. bonus, very very little effort.

It's what fer dinner
Another crack at some tasty, satisfying dinner that was really easy to make, spot on the diet, good for you anyway and epic tasty goodness
This shot to the left is to give a sense of proportions since i don't do true recipes. in the center we have a giant glop of mayo, to the left of that a healty squirt of ranch dressing, all over the top a solid but not overbearing sprinkle of curry powder. Normandy mix again from costco, but ideal would be just the broccoli cauliflower. soy sauce has been added directly to the cauliflower and Tilapia (white fish or meat of any kind really will do.
Here's most of the party all lined up fried the Tilapia in the olive oil a bit then basically tossed in the rest
and then for 'garnish' diet crystal lite lemonade mixed with cheap ass franzia chardonnay chilled exhibit below.
toss in bowl
fress.

That shirt in the back of your closet
286... 58lbs lost.... blah blah blah, I had this big stall now i'm like eh 2lbs above where i'd hoped to be a couple weeks ago.
These are the times when most people get frustrated and start making it worse and so on, what i've been talking about all along. each step along the way find things that are already better, realize that even if you never gain anymore ground ever, THIS is better, way better than where you started and not losing the ground you've already made needs to become a much much higher priority than gaining more ground.
We fail to do that, we get competitive and we get frustrated and then we quit.
So this shirt in the back of the closet, my wife got it for me many years ago when we were losing weight, i've told her probably 17 too many times about this world class restaurant hidden in the woods with a potholed muddy parking lot in the small town i grew up in.
I've been a few places, both coasts, japan, china. lived in wine country for a decade, so i'm no stranger to really fantastic eats of all kinds, but to this day, The Double Musky is hands down the best food on earth. kind of ironic that when she hunted them down and hounded for a t-shirt to give me a memento of a place that makes the finest richest eye-rolly-est good food on the planet that the biggest shirt they had was an XL. As i was a XXXL-tall there was no way this was ever going to be anything but a wall hanging. but as i stand here before you, though the poor thing is giving all she's got cap'n this tiny shirt fits ON my body, holy hell! now i've got another motivation, one day i'm gonna eat those amazeballs scallops with creme
sauce and french pastry thingers comfortably in this shirt, maybe even in a booth!
Or maybe i need to step out a bit and try some of this epic holy jeysus to the left here, hell most of that looks like 'diet' food even and i'm sure that sauce would send my eyes back in my head.
see you dont have to hate food, you dont have to turn it 100% into its just fuel, stop your love affair with it, really think more like a chef, long and plan for these great experiences, every night if you have the means, once in awhile if you don't but with some simple choices, even this mouth watering blessed holy thing on a plate is still a part of getting your body to where it does everything you want it to do not just a reward at the end of a long journey. Living is a daily thing, its not about 'not dying' or living as long as you can its about LIVING, racking up one experience after another that was worth having even the bad ones are worth telling stories about but that safe life lived inside that bubble made of other peoples expectations, thats a fate worse than death. be the savory sauce covered steak you are looking for in the world!

Recipe: Fansuase ala sousague en field greens
Thats as hoity as i can come up with, sorry :) so i made some more epic noms last night, moderate low carby (which at the moment keeps me at the lbs lost i've done so far but might be keeping me from losing more) and figure i should get down the nitty gritty bits for future reference.
6 johnsonville brats, olive oil, high heat to start, drop to 2ish when you get sizzle
flip em when it starts to smell like food, lid, 15min or so
pull those puppies, leave the grease and flaverness and dump in about a half a bag of costco normandy mix veggies.
toss in some clasico alfredo
small amount of leftover chicken creamy curry weirdness (or not, or something else that feels compatible) just had like a couple cups of something left, I find that doing this helps use up the most leftovers and makes every meal a little unique in flavor keeping it interesting.
big ol squirt of ranch dressing, like probably half a cup
curry, you need curry in everything but in this keep it light, just enough to tinge the color of the sauce.
chop up the brats now that they are cool enough to touch, toss those puppies in
drizzle soy sauce on the brats and cauliflower (they'll soak up some of the flavor faster than if it got lost in the sauce up front) then whole milk or half and half til the whole thing is just about stew like
simmer simmmer class (mrs mungers class, google that shit if you've never heard of it, awesome)
anyway stir it a couple times simmering for half an hour, dont stir it 10x or it gets mushy
serve it with a ladle, in a bowl witha spoon even though its pretty fork able the sauce is whats gonna satisfy.
the odd combination of flavors here isn't just about flavor, its a complex relationship between dairy/cream and fermented stuff (soy sauce and ranch) its not just a sour, there's a deeper flavor to it that is subtle and yummy.
